REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar join forces for “Love On The Run” tour

It wouldn’t have been the 80s without REO Speedwagon and Pat Benatar. And now, thirty years later, the two are finally joining forces for the “Love On The Run” summer tour.

The 21-city tour kicks off on June 24 in Uncasville, Conn, and winds across the nation before concluding on Aug. 27 in Gilford, N.H. Additional REO Speedwagon tickets and tour dates are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

“Both REO Speedwagon and Pat Benatar share a history of hits, a family-oriented approach, and a continuing desire to rock hard and have fun doing it. We embrace and take pride in our past achievements, while we are all about growing as artists and keeping our standards high. We intend to prove it every night on stage with the ‘Love On The Run’ tour,’” said Kevin Cronin, REO Speedwagon lead singer, in a press release.

REO continues to tour in support of their 2007 album “Find Your Own Way Home,” which was their first new music in over a decade. Benatar’s most recent release, “Go,” debuted in 2003.

REO Speewagon, Pat Benatar team up for summer tour

“Love Is A Battlefield.” “We Belong.” “Time For Me To Fly.” “Keep On Lovin’ You.” Do these ring a bell? They are just a few of the hits from two of the biggest acts from the 70’s and 80’s, namely Pat Benatar and REO Speedwagon. Now, the two chart toppers are returning to better times by going on the road together this summer.

REO stars in new computer game

REO Speedwagon has slowed their tour slightly, but between January and April they’ve still got dates in Harris, Michigan; Toledo, Ohio; Plant City, Florida; Waukegan, Illinois; Joliet, Illinois; and Biloxi, Mississippi.

REO Speedwagon and Styx join for Can’t Stop Rockin’ Tour

The Can’t Stop Rockin’ 2009 tour, which is in the third leg of the North American tour, features REO Speedwagon and Styx with special guest Night Ranger.

In celebration of their upcoming tour, REO Speedwagon and Styx teamed up to record a new single: “Can’t Stop Rockin.” It was co-written by REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin and Styx’s Tommy Shaw.

“The world is going through a weird phase, and everybody needs music now more than ever. We all need to join our friends, pool our resources, combine our energies, because there is power in people coming together. That spirit has brought REO and Styx together to write, record and tour together, and celebrate it all with the greatest fans in America,” Cronin said.
